    The effects of child labour on academic performance of primary school pupils in schools of Bukatu parish, budaya subcounty, Bugiri district.

    This study investigated the causes of girl- child labour in selected primary school in Bukatu Parish, Budaya Subcounty, Bugiri District schools. Bugiri district. The objectives were; examine the influence of parenting style on girl child child labour in selected primary school of Bukatu Parish, Budaya Subcounty, Bugiri District, investigate the impact of socioeconomic status of the family on girl child child labour in primary school of Bukatu Parish, Budaya Subcounty, Bugiri District and find out ways of curbing girl child child labour in selected primary school of Bukatu Parish, Budaya Subcounty, Bugiri District. The study adopted a case study design. Seven school were targeted with a population of 5163 people. Both stratified and random sampling was applied to sample the respondents. The data was analysed according to the questions using tables, frequency and percentages. The found that parenting style, social economic status have contributed to girl child child labour in Bugiri district and there is need to enact laws that protect the victims and sensitize communities on girl child protection.
