    Katakwi leaders warn herdsmen

    The Katakwi LC5 district chairperson, Walter Elakas Okiring, has vowed not to allow Karimojong herdsmen to enter his area of jurisdiction, until they vaccinate all their animals. During the February every year, Karimojong herdsmen invade the neighbouring districts of Amuria and Katakwi in search of water and pasture for their animals.

    Suspected Karimojong attack Katakwi farmers

    Suspected Karimojong from Napak district on Monday attacked and injured about nine people in Amuturunyo village, Obwobwo parish, Ongongoja sub-county in Katakwi district. An LC3 chairperson is said to have been the ringleader in the attacks sparked off by a disagreement over land boundaries.
