    An estimated 100,000 girls in Sebei and Karamoja sub-regions are at risk of undergoing Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) country has warned. Mr. Alain Sibenaler, the UNFPA country representative, said during a marathon at Kapchorwa Boma Grounds at the weekend that aa stakeholders should join hands and end the vice that exposes women to many side effects of clitoris mutilation.

    Uganda, Kenya sign pact to fight Marburg.

    Uganda and Kenya have signed a communique to jointly fight Marburg in the two neighboring countries following the outbreak of the disease in kween district last month. The agreement was signed by representatives from Trans-Zoia county, Kenya, Sebei sub-region, Bugisu and Busia as well as Ministry of Health and World Health organisation (WHO) officials in Kapchorwa district on Tuesday.
