    (Busitema University, 2024) Habaja Balam
This study investigated ‘‘The prevalence of child labor on sugarcane plantations and its effects on pupil’s academic performance in primary schools of Kigandalo sub county Mayuge district, Uganda.’’ Sugarcane cutting, a prevalent form of child labor in many rural areas, may have detrimental effects on children's physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Through a mixed-methods approach combining surveys, interviews, and academic assessments, this research aims to provide insight into the relationship between sugarcane cutting and educational outcomes among children. Additionally, the study sought to identify potential mitigating factors and interventions to alleviate the negative impact of this labor practice on children's academic performance and welfare.
