    Impact of climate change on the biophysical and socioeconomic status of people in and around namatala wetlands in kamonkoli sub county, Budaka district.

    This study examined the impact of climate change on the biophysical and socioeconomic status of people in and around Namatala wetlands in Kamonkoli Sub County, Budaka District. The study was conducted to assess how changing climatic conditions affect wetland ecosystems and the livelihoods of surrounding communities. A descriptive research design using both quantitative and qualitative approaches was adopted with data collected through questionnaires, interviews and field observations. The study established that climate change has contributed to changes in rainfall patterns, temperature variations, wetland degradation, reduced agricultural productivity, and challenges in household livelihoods. The study concluded that climate change negatively affects both the ecological condition of Namatala wetlands and the socioeconomic wellbeing of local communities. It recommends promoting climate change adaptation measures, sustainable wetland management and community awareness to enhance resilience.
