    Go slow on cutting of trees, Ugandans told

    A senior forestry officer in the Ministry of Environment ministry, Valence Arineitwe, has asked Ugandans to stop burning of charcoal in order to reduce emissions from deforestation and degradation. Arineitwe said according to research, between 1990 and 2015, the forest cover in Uganda decreased from 24% to 9% due to deforestation and degradation.

    Hundreds stranded as River Unyama bursts its banks

    Residents of Elegu Border market area in Amuru district have been left homeless after River Unyama burst its banks. This follows the heavy rains and ended on Tuesday morning.
