    Amin's grandson takes Kibanda North seat

    A grandson of former president Idi Amin, Mr Tampo Amin Jegejege, has won the Kibanda North parliamentary seat in Kiryandongo District. Mr Amin got 24,163 votes to beat the leader of Independent MPs, Mr Sam Owor Otada, who got 16,118 votes and Mr Hakim Muhumuza (FDC) who attained 1,305 votes.

    Mayoral candidate petitions NRM secretariat.

    The NRM party mayoral candidate for Masindi Municipality, Mr Ronald Busiinge Kyomuhendo, has petitioned the party secretariat in Kampala. Mr Kyomuhendo accuses the State Minister for Bunyoro affairs, Mr Ernest Kiiza, of campaigning for an Independent candidate against the NRM party rules and procedure.
