    Government donates Irish potatoes to farmers

    The Government through the Ministry of Agriculture has donated 2,400 bags of Irish potatoes to farmers in Rubanda district. Kibazanga said Government offered Irish potatoes as relief to Rubanda farmers who lost their crops during the September 2017 floods.

    Rubanda flood victims receive relief items.

    Grace Mugabirwe Mutebile, the Vice-chairperson of the International Community if Banyakigezi (ICOB) Uganda chapter, has donated relief items to families affected by floods in Rubanda district. Mugabirwe handed 42 blankets and clothes valued at sh1.2m to families at Nfasha trading centre in Muko sub-county. The families were affected by floods in September.

    Rubanda residents petition Museveni over poor road state.

    Residents of Rubanda district have petitioned President Yoweri Museveni over the the poor state of the Hamurwa- kanungu road. The road connects the villages of shebeya. Ikumba, Mukadongo and Hamurwa town council, all in Ikumba and Hamurwa sub-counties, to Kanungu district. It had a floating bridge that was submerged about two months ago following heavy rain that hits the region.
