    The 11 best farmers, currently touring the Netherlands are amazed at the history and size of the port of Rotterdam. Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe and ninth in the world. Overall, it is only bettered by eight Chinese ports in volume of goods handled. During their stay in the Netherlands, the farmers will, among others, visit livestock nutrition processors, seed industries, dairy and horticulture farms.

    Students strike paralyses Makerere

    The police yesterday morning fired tear gas to disperse students of Makerere University who were protesting increased tuition fees for post- graduate students. They were also protesting over missing marks, scrapping of meals in halls of residence and evening lectures. They also claimed the University administration planned to increase tuition for undergraduate students. But sources said the 10% increment will only affect students joining the university in August.
