Abstract
Quality is often related to standards of a product or a service. Its Genesis during the industrialization era in the 1950's, emphasised in the generation of products with predictable uniformity, having era defects but with a standard suited to the customer. Given he diverse landscape of inputs, processes and outputs in higher ducation, defining quality is more complex than it is in other ectors. Quality education is therefore defined as being; fit for urpose, transformative, value for money with focus on efficiency, ffectiveness and measuring outputs against inputs. Quality Assurance is the planned and systematic review process of an institution or programme to determine whether or not acceptable tandards of education, scholarship and infrastructure are being net, maintained and enhanced. A sustainable quality assurance culture in a higher education institutions facilitates an enabling earning environment, enhances employment opportunities and enriches the academic and intellectual landscape.
