dc.description.abstractThis study investigated the factors affecting secondary school students' attitudes towards mathematics in Nagongera, Tororo district, Uganda. A cross-sectional survey of 120 students revealed that background environment, parental involvement, and learning styles significantly impact students' attitudes. The findings show that students' attitudes directly influence their mathematics performance. Parental encouragement fosters a positive attitude towards mathematics. The study recommends organizing seminars and workshops to promote positive attitudes towards mathematics. However, further research is needed to explore other influencing factors, such as gender bias, to address the existing gap in research
