Abstract
A team of surgeons have carried out the first ever inner ear operation in the country at Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala. Dr. Abubakar Bugembe, a consultant, ear nose and throat (ENT) surgeon, said the surgery that is medically known as cochlear implant is being undertaken by a joint ENT specialist team from Uganda, Kenya, Egypt and Austria.
