Abstract
The emancipation of women in Uganda has been a source of pride for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party. During celebrations to mark International Women's Day on March 8, 2022, President Museveni proudly stated that his party has consistently advocated for women's rights. He highlighted the introduction of affirmative action, which has increased the number of women participating in politics.
