The Government of Uganda has appealed to financially capable countries to each contribute at least $1 million towards refugee support, following significant funding cuts by the United States to UN agencies. The Office of the Prime Minister said the country's refugee response programmes have suffered a major setback after the UN system lost up to $65m in previously committed funding.
