Tick management among cattle keepers has become a significant problem to livestock productivity in tropical and sub- tropical regions, causing great economic losses due to reduced milk production, poor weight gain, hide damage by causing wounds, and the transmission of tick-borne diseases such as Babesiosis, theileriosis, anaplasmosis. Often times tick management relies heavily on synthetic acaricides which are expensive, unreliable in rural communities and resistant to tick species, cause environmental contamination (Borah & Bora, 2020). There is an urgent need to carry out studies on sustainable, affordable, environmentally friendly alternatives to synthetic chemical control.
