dc.description.abstractThis Development Strategy is the fifth in the normal EAC series to date, yet it also constitutes the first regional Development Strategy under the EAC Vision 2050 – in a series of seven Development Strategies to be undertaken along the road to the Vision 2050. The overall goal of the Development Strategy is: “to build a firm foundation for transforming the East African Community into a stable, competitive and sustainable lower middle-income region by 2021”, while its overarching theme is: “accelerating a people-centered and market-driven integration”.
