Abstract
Maj Gen Benon Biraaro has quickly transformed from a presidential candidate to an arbitrator between President Museveni and Dr Kizza Besigye, the two candidates around whom the country has been polarised following a disputed presidential election on February 18.
Gen Biraaro, who scored less than one per cent of the votes according to the results released by the Electoral Commission on February 20, said he held talks with President Museveni on Friday and floated the idea of a unity government, having already done the same with Dr Besigye a day earlier.
