dc.description.abstractSurvey findings indicate that TB prevalence is higher in men because of the men's poor-health-seeking behaviour. In addition, men smoke more than women. Medical research has found tobacco increases the risk of developing active TB. Globally, about 20% of TB cases are said to be linked to tobacco-smoking.
