A cross-sectional design was used with three sampling stations (upstream, midstream and downstream). Fish were sampled using hooks and identified to species level while water quality parameters (temperature, pH, turbidity, electrical conductivity and dissolved oxygen) were measured in situ using portable meters. Structured questionnaires and key informant interviews assessed human activities. Results showed high turbidity (301 NTU), slightly alkaline pH (8.23), moderate conductivity (208.69 µS/cm) and generally good dissolved oxygen (92.18%). Thirty fish belonging to four species were recorded, dominated by Clarias gariepinus (63.3%). Respondents identified sand mining, farming and waste disposal as the major threats. The study concluded that human activities influence water quality and fish abundance and recommends improved catchment management, riparian restoration and routine monitoring.en-USASSESING THE ABUNDANCE OF FISH SPECIES IN RELATION TO PHYSICAL CHEMICAL PARAMETERS AND HUMAN ACTIVITIES IN NAGONGERA STREAM, NAGONGERA TOWN COUNCIL TORORO DISTRICT
