    Candidates protest Upper Madi results.

    The parliamentary candidates for Upper Madi Constituency have protested the inclusion of "a stranger" on the ballot paper. Mr Isaac Etuka's nomination had been annulled by the Electoral Commission (EC) but on polling day, voters and candidates were surprised to see the photo of the NRM contestant on the ballot paper.

    No one should go into exile over polls - Mbabazi

    Independent presidential candidate Amama Mbabazi has said no Ugandan should go into exile or become a refugee because of election results or bad governance. "I don't want a situation where some of our people feel they are not exactly Ugandans because other members of the community regard them differently," Mr Mbabazi told a rally in Koboko District.

    UNRA to replace wooden bridges in West Nile

    The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) has identified 10 wooden bridges that are in a sorry state to be replaced with concrete decker. Speaking during the inspection of the roads and bridges last Friday, the executive director of UNRA, Ms Allen Kagina, said most of the wooden bridges have become dangerous to passengers.
