    Recently, Daily monitor carried a story where government revealed best and worst performing districts for the financial year 2016/2017. to my disappointment oil rich Buliisa district was ranked as one of the worst performing districts performing below 40% of the target.

    Oil discovery will worsen situation in Karamoja

    Karamoja is a semi-arid sub-region, which receives little and unpredictable rain. The area also experiences high temperature throughout the year. The impacts of climate change create challenges and impose severe losses and hardships on the communities. Therefore, i believe that oil exploitation in Karamoja will worsen climate change hence negatively impact on the social and economic development of the sub-region.
