As we commemorate the day of a girl child, we are reminded of the millions of girls caught in crises all over the world. The theme for this year: EmPOWER girls: Before, during and after crises' is cognisant of the need to ensure that girls are able to survive in a rapidly changing world that grapples with conflict, climate change, violent extremism and forced displacement.
