Abstract
This study focused on the design and construction of a simple fire sensor using readily available electrical components to provide an affordable and efficient early fire detection system. The main objective was to develop a low-cost prototype capable of detecting fire conditions such as heat or flame and triggering an alarm to enhance safety in homes, schools, and small institutions. The study followed experimental procedures involving circuit design, construction, and performance testing under controlled conditions. The sensor was evaluated based on temperature variation, response time, sensitivity, accuracy, and reliability. The results showed that the system responded progressively to increasing temperature level, the findings further revealed that the use of locally available components significantly reduced construction cost while maintaining effective performance. In conclusion, the study demonstrated that a simple fire sensor can be effectively designed and constructed using basic electronic components, making it suitable for low-cost fire detection applications in resource-limited environments. Overall, the research contributes to the development of affordable safety technologies aimed at reducing fire-related risks and improving emergency response in developing regions.
