Abstract
This research examined the various pest species that destroyed on these crops, the degree of harm they inflicted and the management strategies currently employed by farmers to keep them under controlled within the area. In order to reduce losses and enhance food security, this research also assessed the efficacy of the pest management techniques already in use and pinpointed areas for improvement (O’Cathain, A., & Thomas, 2006), such as surveys, field observations, and interviews, in order to collect pertinent data and efficiently analyze the findings. Questionnaires and interviews were used with the aim of identifying the management practices of the different pests that were identified to be causing the post-harvest loses during beans storage in these stores Insect pest in particularly the beans weevils and the large legume borers were found to be the major pests causing post-harvest loses both at a percentage frequency of 100%.various biological, chemical, cultural and physical methods are used to manage the pests in these stores, these methods can also be used or integrated together in this pest management, physical methods such as sun drying was the mostly used form of pest management with a percentage frequency of 90%.
