Abstract
The Batwa were originally forest-dwelling hunter-gathers in the Great lakes region of Central Africa. The Bwata in Uganda are said to have migrated from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Over time, they lost these forest lands and territories to agro activities and later government conservation.
