The Bambara groundnut (Vigna subterranea L.) is a resilient crop that can withstand dry conditions and offers valuable nutrients. indigenous African legume, yet its production in Bambara nut production in Uganda is hampered by inadequate soil quality and a lack of agricultural research. This research examined the impact of black soldier fly frass (BSFF) fertilizer on the growth and yield of Bambara nuts in Eastern Uganda. The study was carried out at the Arapai Campus of Busitema University. (Soroti District), and NaSARRI (Serere District Employing a fully randomized block arrangement, we will examine five different interventions: 5 kg, 10 kg, and 15 kg BSFF, 1 kg NPK fertilizer, and a control, each replicated three times. Measured growth parameters consisted Height of the plant, leaf area, and leaf area index, whereas yield parameters comprised biomass, pod count and weight, harvest index, and weight of 100 seeds. Findings indicated extremely significant variations (p <0.001) across treatments. The 15 kg BSFF (T3) and NPK (T5) treatments yielded the highest values for most measures, whereas the control (T4) showed the lowest. Correlation analysis showed substantial positive connections between growth and yield traits, indicating that vegetative vigor had a direct impact on productivity. The results indicate that BSFF, an eco-friendly and nutrient-dense organic fertilizer, can offer a sustainable substitute for synthetic fertilizers by enhancing the growth, yield, and soil fertility of Bambara nuts. It is thus advisable to apply 5–10 t ha−1 of BSFF to improve sustainable Bambara nut cultivation in Uganda.
