Road map for redesign of active bachelors’ programs
The competence Based Education (CBE) concept guiding transition from content based to competence-based education which was approved by 40th Senate on 20th March 2025 included three (3) phases. The first phase is institutional planning and institutional preparedness which was done with the exception of developing a CBE Transition Strategy & Policy which is only pending Senate approval. The second phase is capacity building and curriculum design originally expected to be accomplished by June 2026. The CBE redesign will initially target all active Bachelors programs. The third phase will implementation, institution-wide rollout and continuous improvement. Currently the University is at the second phase of capacity building and curriculum redesign. The University intends to vigorously embark on curriculum redesign measures and thereafter prompt submission to National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) for re-accreditation processes.
