Abstract
In the recently released 2025 Africa Financial Market Index (AFMD), Uganda jumped into the 3rd position a leap from the 4th position in 2024. The index evaluated 20 countries in the region approximately 80 percent of the population and Gross Domestic Product of Africa. This is determined by a country’s performance across more than 40 indicators, across six pillars: Market depth. Access to foreign exchange. Macroeconomics environment and transparency, Market transparency and regulatory environment. Pension fund development. Legal standards and enforceability.
